Overview

Programme Description

Each year, the German Bundestag awards scholarships to young graduates who hold citizenship of an Arab country. Applicants for the programme, which takes place between 1 and 30 September, are politically active or show civic engagement and are under 35 years of age at the programme start.

Candidates demonstrate interest in the German parliamentary system and are keen to play an active role in promoting core democratic values and the concept of a diverse civil society in their home countries.

The German Bundestag invites scholars to get to know the German parliamentary system and political decision-making processes in an intensive four-week programme.

Target Group

Graduates from the Arab states who are fluent in German, interested in politics and who are keen to play an active role in promoting core democratic values in their home countries

Scholarship Value

  • Scholarship of 700 EUR monthly
  • Costs of health, accident and personal liability insurance will be covered.
  • Travel expenses to and from Berlin will be covered.
  • Free accommodation
