Overview

The John G. and Suzanne Scott Weber Scholarship Fund was established with hopes to lay a firm foundation for students graduating from the Switzerland Ohio School District. It is also John and Suzanne’s desire that some of these accomplished students would return to Monroe County, Ohio; that they will endeavor to serve and enhance lives of the people in these communities. John was born in Woodsfield (Monroe County); Suzanne was born in Columbus (Franklin County). John and Suzanne both graduated from Ohio Northern University in 1965. John graduated with a pharmacy degree, and Suzanne, with a degree in Elementary Education. Throughout this time to the present, they remain devoted servants of Christ in their community and in the Woodsfield First United Methodist Church. Eligibility Requirements & Criteria:

  • Applicant must be a resident of Monroe County graduating from the Switzerland of the Ohio School District (including Beallsville, Monroe Central, and River High Schools, and Swiss Hills Career Center);
  • Attending an accredited 2-year or 4-year post-secondary school or career/technical center;
  • Pursuing a course of study in education, including special needs education, or the sciences, including agriculture;
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and relevant work experience.
