Kirsty Boden Memorial Nursing Scholarship

Description:
The object of the scholarship is to recognise and support regional and rural students studying the Bachelor of Nursing (Pre-registration). Two scholarships will be available each year from 2018, for as long as funding permits.
The scholarship has been established through a $100,000 grant from the Government of South Australia.
Benefits:
Each scholarship will have a value of $10,000 paid in equal instalments on the first University pay period after 31 March for Semester 1 and 31 August for Semester 2.
Applicants for the scholarship must:
normally be enrolled full-time at Flinders University*
be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or permanent humanitarian visa holder; and
be enrolled in the Bachelor of Nursing (Pre-registration)
in the third (final) year of study
be in receipt of a means-tested government benefit, or be able to demonstrate financial need
have a permanent home address in regional or rural Australia as defined by the Australian Geographic Standards Classification (AGSC).
Scholarships are available to part-time students in exceptional circumstances, which includes (but is not limited to) disability, illness or carer responsibilities. Part-time scholarships will be paid-pro rata.
Selection Criteria:
The Scholarship selection will be made based on:
geographical location**
financial need
academic merit.
Scholarship selection will be made in accordance with approved University procedures.
**Applicants studying at the Riverland campus will be given the highest priority. If there are no eligible applicants from the Riverland Campus, students from rural and remote areas will be considered. The degree of regional or rural remoteness will be considered for students not studying at the Riverland campus.
