Carson Northern Territory Medical Program Scholarship

Description:
The purpose of this scholarship is to support provide financial assistance to students enrolled in the Northern Territory Medical Program.
The scholarship is funded by a donation from the Carson Family.
Benefits:
Each scholarship will have a value of $5,000 per annum paid in equal instalments after the census date of each semester. One scholarship will be available per year for the duration of the funding.
The tenure is 1 year. The scholarship will be paid in two equal instalments, after the census date of each semester.
Eligibility:
Applicants must:
- be enrolled in the second or third year of the Northern Territory Medical Program at Flinders University; and
- be able to demonstrate consistent professional behaviour and a commitment to working on the Northern Territory. Leave will be permitted for the second semester of this scholarship, for a maximum of one semester only.
Selection Criteria:
The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of demonstrated consistent professional behaviour and commitment to working in the Northern Territory. Preference may be given to students in financial need.
Successful applicants may reapply in subsequent years; however preference may be given to students who have not previously received this scholarship.
Selection will be made by a panel which includes representatives from the College of Medicine and Public Health.
