Overview

Objective

Advanced students of engineering sciences of the Argentinean Association of Technical Universities (Universidad Tecnológica Nacional, UTN) spend one semester at a German university and then complete a 4-6 month industrial internship.

Who can apply?

Advanced students of engineering sciences at UTN, who have already completed at least 60% of the coursework in their degree program.

What can be funded?

A study semester at a German university, followed by a 4 to 6 month internship in a German company

Duration of the funding

12 months

Value

Co-financed by UTN and DAAD:

  • Travel allowance for outward and return flight (DAAD)
  • 2-month language course in Germany including accommodation and pocket money of 410,- € per month (DAAD)
  • One-off start-up grant of €460 (DAAD)
  • Health, accident and liability insurance (DAAD)
  • Monthly partial scholarship of 581,- € for 10 months (DAAD)
  • Monthly partial scholarship of 280,- € for 10 months (UTN)
  • Tutor support at the German university

Selection

Students apply via the international offices of the participating Argentinean UTN universities. The selection procedure is carried out by an expert commission with the participation of representatives of the DAAD and UTN.

Central selection criteria are:

  • Above average academic performance
  • Personal suitability for the programme and its objectives
  • Good knowledge of the German language (at least level B1)
  • Good command of English
