Overview

Objective

Advanced Argentinean students first spend one semester at a German university and then complete a 4 to 6-month industrial internship.

Who can apply?

Advanced students of engineering sciences at Argentinean universities or researchers in publicly funded institutions with Argentinean nationality up to an age of usually 26 years.

What can be funded?

A study semester at a German university followed by a 4 to 6 month internship in a German company; alternatively, a research project under the supervision of a German professor is possible in the 2nd semester.

Co-financing between the Argentine Ministry of Education and the DAAD.

• 2-month intensive language course in Germany including accommodation costs and pocket money of 410,- Euro per month (DAAD)
• One-time study and research grant of 460,- Euro (DAAD)
• Travel allowance for outward and return journey (DAAD)
• Monthly partial scholarship instalment of 500 euros for 10 months (ALEARG)
• Monthly partial scholarship instalment of 361 euros for 10 months (DAAD)
• Health, accident and liability insurance (DAAD)

Selection

Students apply through the international offices of the participating Argentinean universities. Selection criteria are among others:

• above average academic performance
• personal suitability for the programme and its objectives
• knowledge of the German language (at least level B1)
• good command of English The selection of applicants for a scholarship is carried out by an expert selection committee of the Argentine Ministry and the DAAD.
