Description/Applicant information The Rural and Regional Enterprise Scholarships Program improves access to and completion of tertiary education courses.
The scholarships are open to students from regional and remote areas in Australia.
The program objectives are to increase the number of regional and remote students:
- Engaging in tertiary study at qualification levels from Certificate IV and above; . Able to undertake their preferred course of tertiary study, irrespective of their location; and . Completing their course of study, relative to their peers. .
The Program will support up to 700 undergraduate, postgraduate and Vocational Education and Training (VET) students to undertake a tertiary course, open to all fields of study the scholarships are for Certificate IV to PhD courses.

Value The Scholarship payments will assist the recipient with the financial costs of attending their institution and undertaking their eligible course of study and internships.
The Rural and Regional Enterprise Scholarships Program can provide:
- Funding of up to $18,000, based on course length and type of study or training
- A further $500 to support an internship

Please note there are a limited number of scholarships available and the scholarship will be awarded until funding is exhausted.
Eligible courses All undergraduate, postgraduate coursework and PhD courses
Eligibility criteria To be eligible for the Rural and Regional Enterprise scholarship applicants must:
- Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, holder of a permanent humanitarian visa or New Zealand Citizen
- Have commenced the first year of their eligible course of study in semester 1, 2022 and be continuing in semester 2, 2022 or;
- Be about to commence the first year of their eligible course of study in semester 2, 2022.
- Applicants must not have relocated to a major city more than 3 months prior to commencing their chosen course of study.
- Provide evidence to demonstrate their financial need;
- Have your permanent home address in a regional or remote area as defined by the Australian Statistical Geography Standard (ASGS).
