Lina D'Iorio Scholarship
Concordia University
Lina D’Iorio first joined Concordia in 1973 as a staff member in the Department of Economics. She moved to the Department of Electrical Engineering in 1975 but returned to the Faculty of Arts and Science in 1987, working in the Department of Education before finally joining the Liberal Arts College in August 1988.
In 2002, Lina was a recipient of the Concordia Council on Student Life Merit Award. After 25 years of dedicated service, Lina D’Iorio retired from the Liberal Arts College in 2013. To express their profound appreciation for a beloved colleague and dear friend, and by way of living tribute to her outstanding care for students, the Liberal Arts College faculty collectively spearheaded the launch of an endowed scholarship in Lina’s honour. It is the hope of Liberal Arts College faculty, alumni and friends who contributed to the scholarship that Lina will be pleased to see its impact on future generations of students.
The Scholarship is intended to encourage and recognize academic excellence and superior contributions to student life among second or third-year students at the Liberal Arts College. Candidates for this scholarship are recommended by the Liberal Arts College to the Undergraduate Scholarships and Awards Committee via the Financial Aid and Awards Office annually.
