Julius Stracina Memorial Bursary

Established in 2013 by Mary Stracina (BA '62) in loving memory of her late husband, Julius Stracina (Bcomm '50), the Julius Stracina Memorial Bursary is intended to help newly-admitted students in financial need in Concordia University's Department of Education. Married for 61 years, both Mr. and Mrs. Stracina graduated from Sir George Williams University and spent their careers as teachers in Montreal. Upon their retirement, they enjoyed touring the world ultimately exploring each continent. A veteran and passionate advocate for education, Mr. Stracina would be proud to know he is helping the next generation of teachers pursue their dreams. Open to Canadian citizens or permanent residents newly-admitted to the Department of Education, this bursary is non-renewable.
The Entrance Bursary Program is designed to provide financial support to newly admitted students to an Undergraduate Bachelor's degree program in any discipline of study.
Application deadline The 2024-2025 Undergraduate Entrance Bursary Program will open on March 3, 2024.
To apply to the Entrance Bursary program, an application form must be submitted online along with various supporting documents. Eligibility is determined following a financial needs test, a review of the candidate’s academic ranking as assigned during admission application processing, and a holistic appreciation of the applicant’s personal statements on the entrance bursary application form.
The Entrance Bursary application opens on March 3, 2024 to April 3, 2024.
