John M. Gardiner Award

The John M. Gardiner Award was established in 2008, and is intended to support and encourage full-time and part-time students in Bachelor's programs, in any area of study.
Candidates for this bursary must demonstrate commitment and spirit towards attaining a University degree, which reflect the values exemplified by John Gardiner. His determination to attain a University degree by following night courses and his subsequent personal achievements set a fine example of how a person can overcome personal and social challenges.
Candidates for this In-Course Bursary must be in their second year of studies or higher, and must have previously followed a non-credit program at Concordia University's Centre for Continuing Education, and must supply an official transcript from Continuing Education along with their In-Course Bursary application along with an additional statement describing their educational path and future aspirations. Open to Canadian citizens, permanent residents or international students, this bursary is non-renewable however recipients may apply to be reconsidered in subsequent years.
Concordia offers need-based In-Course Bursaries to returning Bachelor's students in the Fall semester.
Application deadline The 2024-2025 Undergraduate In-Course Bursary Program will be open April 1, 2024.
In-Course Bursaries are awarded by the Financial Aid and Awards Office to previously admitted students following an application-based competition that includes a financial need test and holistic committee review. Applicants are notified of the results after the Financial Aid and Awards Office receives results from the bursary committee.
The In-Course Bursary program normally open April 1, 2024 and will close on May 15, 2024.
