G. Bruce English Bursary
Concordia University
The G. Bruce English Bursary was established by Linda English, in memory of Gordon Bruce English, former professor in the Department of Finance and Loyola College alumnus. The bursary is intended to support and encourage Concordia students during their pursuit of higher education.
G. Bruce believed in the importance of education. From a young age, he was a strong student completing elementary school two years ahead of schedule. His academic accomplishments consisted of Bachelor of Arts from Loyola College, a Bachelor of Civil Law from McGill University and a Master of Commerce from the University of Toronto. He began his career in Montreal with Royal Trust and then with the Molson Company in Montreal and Calgary. In 1968, he returned to Montreal as a Professor at Loyola College initially in Marketing, but for most of his 26 years in education (1968-1994) he was a dedicated professor in the Department of Finance at Concordia University and a strong advocate for students.
