Carrefour des Langagiers Entrepreneurs Scholarship in Translation

The Carrefour des langagiers entrepreneurs was a non-profit organization dedicated to providing freelance translators, interpreters, copywriters, revisors—any professional working in the language fields—with opportunities to network, enhance their careers, attend workshops and webinars and grow their business. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic hurt the organization’s chances of survival, and the CLEF had to cease its activities in June 2022. The Board of Directors of the CLEF was happy to be able to contribute to a new generation of language entrepreneurs by making this donation of its assets to Concordia University’s Département d’Études françaises to benefit a student in the undergraduate translation programs. Restricted to students studying full time in an undergraduate degree in Spécialisation en traduction, Option F, or in the Majeure en traduction and be translating towards French. The student must have completed one year of studies and have obtained at least 12 credits of program courses during that year. Applicants must submit a letter of motivation. Recommendations for a student recipient will be made by members of the translation sector of the DÉF.

In-course bursaries Concordia offers need-based In-Course Bursaries to returning Bachelor's students in the Fall semester.

Application deadline The 2024-2025 Undergraduate In-Course Bursary Program will be open April 1, 2024.

In-Course Bursaries are awarded by the Financial Aid and Awards Office to previously admitted students following an application-based competition that includes a financial need test and holistic committee review. Applicants are notified of the results after the Financial Aid and Awards Office receives results from the bursary committee.

The In-Course Bursary program normally open April 1, 2024 and will close on May 15, 2024.
