The Carlini-DeLuca Undergraduate RISE Award - for Resilience In Science & Engineering Pathways to Success was established in recognition of remarkable undergraduate students in Science and Engineering, who are future focused and optimistic about their path to success despite navigating through personal strain and exceptional challenges. The award offers financial encouragement after a 50% eligible credits completion or following their second completed year of their undergraduate degree.
Candidates will be in good academic standing with a minimum GPA of B+, who are displaying resilience and perseverance while facing hardships during their studies which may have occurred from any one or more of the following reasons: managing a health issue impacting their studies, lack of family support due to being international student or a refugee, hardship experienced with loss of a family member, lack of mentoring support, feeling marginalized and under-represented in society or in science / engineering.
The Award shall be granted through competition among full-time students pursuing a Bachelor/Baccalaureate of Science degree, and students pursuing a Bachelor/Baccalaureate of Engineering degree at the University.
The Award is open to Canadian citizens, permanent residents, and international students.
Concordia offers need-based In-Course Bursaries to returning Bachelor's students in the Fall semester.
Application deadline The 2024-2025 Undergraduate In-Course Bursary Program will be open April 1, 2024.
In-Course Bursaries are awarded by the Financial Aid and Awards Office to previously admitted students following an application-based competition that includes a financial need test and holistic committee review. Applicants are notified of the results after the Financial Aid and Awards Office receives results from the bursary committee.
The In-Course Bursary program normally open April 1, 2024 and will close on May 15, 2024.
