Andrew Forbes Award for Visible Minority Accountancy Students

Established in 2015, the Andrew Forbes Award for Visible Minority Accountancy Students is intended to encourage and reward visible minority students in financial need who are currently enrolled in the accountancy program in the John Molson School of Business (JMSB). By creating the Award, the Donor hopes to increase diversity within the accounting profession.
Andrew Forbes (BComm’94) is a tax partner with KPMG.
Preference for this bursary will be given to students in JMSB with a Major in Accountancy who have been involved in the Caribbean community. Candidates must provide an essay detailing their Caribbean community involvement (500 words) and one letter of reference. The bursary is open to Canadian citizens, permanent residents or international students and is renewable on the basis of continuing full-time registration in the Bachelor of Commerce program with a Major in Accountancy, and a minimum Assessment GPA of 2.00.
Concordia offers need-based In-Course Bursaries to returning Bachelor's students in the Fall semester.
Application deadline The 2024-2025 Undergraduate In-Course Bursary Program will be open April 1, 2024.
In-Course Bursaries are awarded by the Financial Aid and Awards Office to previously admitted students following an application-based competition that includes a financial need test and holistic committee review. Applicants are notified of the results after the Financial Aid and Awards Office receives results from the bursary committee.
The In-Course Bursary program normally open April 1, 2024 and will close on May 15, 2024.
