Korryn P. Whited Memorial Scholarship Fund
Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore,
The Korryn P. Whited Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to graduating senior(s) of Snow Hill High School who have demonstrated an outstanding work ethic and high moral character.
Qualifications:
▪ A 3.0 or better grade point average in appropriate course work indicating the student is able to be successful at the college level. No grades lower than a B in all math courses. ▪ Student will pursue a major and career in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math related field.
Nature of Award: Award will be a scholarship of at least $1,000. Scholarship will be exclusively applicable for tuition and required fees of the institution.
How to Apply: Applications are available at the Snow Hill High School Guidance Counseling office and Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore (CFES). An application is complete, and considered for the scholarship award, only when the following have been submitted:
- A completed scholarship application
- Official high school transcript of grades
- Letter of acceptance from college or university
- A copy of the students Expected Family Contribution (EFC)
- In 300 words or less, handwritten by you, please submit an essay titled “Why you should be awarded this scholarship”.
- One (1) attached personal reference (from a non-family member) and; One (1) attached academic reference (from a non-family member).
- Applicant will be required to be interviewed by the scholarship committee.
- Applicant’s checklist to be included in application –provided in packet.
E. Deadline: Applications must be submitted to Snow Hill High School by April 1st . Members of the SHHS Selection Committee will select the recipient(s) of the award.
Who May Apply:
Graduating seniors at Snow Hill High School who have been accepted by an accredited academic college program within a STEM college.
