Choice of School: Accredited four-year college or university

Considerations:

Applicants must have been a member of the golf team in their junior and senior years. Applicants should demonstrate a need for financial assistance, have a reputation of good character, be a well-rounded citizen and have participated in extra-curricular school or community activities. Successful applicants should demonstrate that they have the maturity and commitment to succeed in college level courses of study. Must have a 3.0 or higher cumulative grade point average.

Nature of Award:

The amount of this award will be a minimum of $1,000 per student for one academic year. Up to four awards may be granted each year, intended for one student from each Wicomico County Public High School (James M. Bennett High School, Mardela High School, Parkside High School, Wicomico High School). Should a school not put forth a suitable applicant, multiple applicants from the same school can be selected to grant up to four awards per year.

How to Apply:

Applications are available at Wicomico County High School guidance offices or www.CFES.org/scholarships. Completed applications must be submitted to Debra Sebach (address indicated on Scholarship Application Form) no later than April 1 of the current school year to be eligible for fall semester assistance. An application is complete, and considered for a scholarship award, only when the following have been submitted:

  1. A completed scholarship application
  2. Official high school transcript of grades
  3. Letter of acceptance from college or university
  4. Two letters of recommendation from non-family members (e.g. teacher, guidance counselor, employer, athletic coach, etc.)
  5. A one-page personal essay with a golf related theme Applicant may be required to be interviewed by the scholarship committee.
Eligibility

Who May Apply:

Graduating seniors of a Wicomico County Public High School who are members of the golf team and have been accepted for admission as a full-time student by an accredited four year college or university.
