BILLY WAYNE TRUITT MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore,
This scholarship is made possible through generous contributions from family, friends, and members of the community in memory of Billy Wayne Truitt. Mr. Truitt was an outstanding instructor of high school students in both Wicomico and Worcester County for over 20 years. It is the hope of the contributors that this annual plan of giving will assist future students in becoming the best they can be in the field – something Mr. Truitt promoted every day of his life.
Choice of School: Applicants must be accepted in an accredited HVACR program to be eligible.
Qualifications
: Applicants must be enrolled in the HVACR program and demonstrate an above-average
nterest in HVACR as a career and indicate financial need in order to further his or her education in HVACR.
Nature of Award: $500 minimum. The award may be renewed for one additional year for students in good standing.
How to Apply:
Applications are available at www.cfes.org or in the Parkside High School CTE Guidance office. Completed applications must be submitted to the school’s Guidance office by no later than April 1st to be considered for a scholarship award, only when the following have been submitted:
- A completed scholarship application
- Official high school transcript of grades
- Letter of recommendation from instructor
- Letter of endorsement from principal
- Letter of acceptance from training school, community college, or other educational institution
- 250-word essay on how a career in HVACR will impact your future
Who May Apply:
Applicants must be graduating seniors of the HVACR program at Parkside High School CTE in Wicomico County, Maryland.
