Overview

Purpose: Created in 2017 to honor the organization’s founder Linnea Hunter, this scholarship will support the education of the children and legal dependents of active Mendocino Community Health Clinic, Inc. employees* by providing annual scholarships for graduating seniors and graduates (18-26 years of age) to attend accredited vocational schools, community colleges, or four-year colleges or universities within the United States.

Priority: Preference will be given to individuals with financial need who demonstrate a history of giving back to their school, community, and/or family; exhibit a commitment to public service and/or helping others; and show initiative, altruism, and the desire to make the world a better place. A 2.5 (vocational) or 3.0 (two or four-year college) GPA or better is preferred.

Requirements: A current Community Foundation online application, high school transcript, resume, and two letters of recommendation from instructors, teachers, coaches, community members, or employers.

Exclusion: Children of employees who are eligible for the MCHC Health Centers tuition reimbursement program may not simultaneously apply for this scholarship program. *Those with at least one year of continuous service as of the date of application and who are still employed at the time the scholarship is awarded.
