M. Cecil and Alice M. Gowan Memorial Scholarship

Purpose: Created by Josephine N. Gowan and Cecil and Alice Gowan’s grandchildren and their families to honor their grandparents’ legacy and to continue the scholarship created by M. Cecil Gowan as a memorial to his wife Alice in 1978, this scholarship fund provides an annual scholarship to an Anderson Valley High School graduating senior who will attend a vocational school, community college, or four-year college or university full-time.

Priority: Preference will be given to students with good citizenship and attendance who participate in extra-curricular and/or community activities and have a GPA between 3.0-3.5.

Requirements: A current Community Foundation online application, high school transcript, attendance record, and two letters of recommendation from instructors, teachers, coaches, community members, or employers.
