Overview

Purpose: Created by Susan Juhl in honor of her husband, Jerry, this scholarship is for Mendocino, Fort Bragg, and Point Arena High School seniors or graduates who plan to attend four-year colleges or universities to study the performing arts (music, dance, theatre, film, and puppetry) and design (sound, lighting, set, and costume).

Priority: Awardees are selected for their potential for career success in the performing arts and their prior academic performance (a minimum 3.0-GPA is desired but not required).

Requirements: A current Community Foundation online application, high school transcript, two letters of recommendation from drama/music/film instructors or teachers, a performing arts resume, and a sample of the student’s performing art (2 to 3 minutes) or design, especially if it cannot be presented in an interview.
