Jean Cannon Scholarship Fund

Purpose: Created by Marvin “Scotty” Cannon in honor of his wife Jean Cannon, this scholarship is for Ukiah High School graduating seniors who will pursue a career that focuses on improving the lives of women and children, e.g., early childhood education, adult literacy and ESL, child and maternal health, affordable housing, employment counseling and assistance, and violence reduction.

Priority: Awardees must demonstrate financial need, a passion for learning, a dedicated work ethic, leadership, and involvement in community and/or school activities. A minimum 3.0-grade point average is required.

Requirements: A current Community Foundation online application, high school transcript, and two letters of recommendation from instructors, teachers, coaches, community members, or employers.
