Peter Isakson Scholarship Fund

Background:

After graduating from Menasha High School in 1963 and traveling and working in Europe and the Middle East, Peter returned to the Fox Valley and started his own company, Vagabond Imports in Appleton in 1977. Peter is inspired to support students pursuing a degree in a technical college. He wants students to consider that in many fields, an education attained from a technical college is a valuable tool for career advancement for future goals.

Eligibility: (taken into consideration to determine recipients)

• Graduating seniors from Menasha High School • Planning to attend Fox Valley Technical College in Appleton, WI as a part-time or full-time student • Cumulative GPA between 2.5-3.25 • Preference may be given to students who are single parents • Financial need will be considered

Award Amount:

One $2,000 scholarship award for cost of attendance, payable at $1,000 for the fall semester and $1,000 for the spring semester.

Selection:

Recipients are recommended each spring by the Menasha High School Scholarship Selection Committee.

Collecting the Award & Payment Procedure:

Recipients must fill out and submit Scholarship Acceptance Form and Scholarship Verification Form through the Scholarship Portal (https://www.grantinterface.com/Home/Logon?urlkey=cffvrscholar). Recipients are required to provide supporting documents as instructed in the Scholarship Verification Form, such as class registration/list with credits listed, proof of major, grade transcript, etc. After approval of online Scholarship Verification Form, the scholarship check will be paid directly to the school the recipient will be attending. The Community Foundation communicates with students via email; it is the student’s responsibility to keep their Scholarship Portal account updated with their current email address.

Loss of Eligibility:

Failure to register as a part-time or full-time student at Fox Valley Technical College.
