New Holstein School District Community Fund Judith Krueger & Else Vollstedt Memorial Scholarship

Background:

Long-time New Holstein residents, Judith Krueger and Else Vollstedt valued education and the New Holstein School District. Judith was a fourth-grade teacher in the district for 33 years, while Else was a librarian. This scholarship in their memory continues their legacy.

Eligibility: (taken into consideration to determine recipients)

• Graduating seniors from New Holstein High School • Pursuing a Major in Education • Plan to attend an accredited 4-year college or university as a full-time student • Applicants must rank in the upper 50% of their graduating class

Award Amount:

One $750 non-renewable award for tuition expenses.

Selection:

Recipients will be recommended each spring by the New Holstein High School Scholarship Selection Committee.

Collecting the Award & Payment Procedure:

Recipients must fill out and submit Scholarship Acceptance Form and Scholarship Verification Form through the Scholarship Portal (https://www.grantinterface.com/Home/Logon?urlkey=cffvrscholar). Recipients are required to provide supporting documents as instructed in the Scholarship Verification Form, such as class registration/list with credits listed, proof of major, grade transcript, etc. After approval of online Scholarship Verification Form, the scholarship check will be paid directly to the school the recipient will be attending. The Community Foundation communicates with students via email; it is the student’s responsibility to keep their Scholarship Portal account updated with their current email address.

Loss of Eligibility:

Failure to enroll as a full-time student majoring in Education at an accredited college or university for the first semester of college. Any request for deferral must be submitted to the Foundation in writing and may be granted for up to one year at the discretion of the Foundation, in consultation with New Holstein High School.
