New Holstein Community Scholarship

Background:
James and Pearl Bostian Family – contributed for an annual scholarship Sheldon Kolb Family – First scholarship was awarded in 1990 Dale Escher Family – Dale’s parents contributed to the scholarship in his memory. He was a 1979 graduate of New Holstein High School who died in a boating accident Dick Kaiser Family – The Kaiser family contributed in memory of their son/brother, 1964 New Holstein High School graduate who worked in construction Sally Knaus Family – first scholarship was given in 1990 Joseph and Caroline Krupp Family – Joseph was a former school board member and president who had a strong interest in education and agriculture.
Eligibility: (taken into consideration to determine recipients)
• Graduating seniors from New Holstein High School • Planning to pursue a post-secondary education at an accredited 2- or 4-year college, university, or technical school as a full-time student • Preference will be given to the following areas of study: Health, Construction or Trades, Agriculture, Horticulture, Business, and Finance
Award Amount:
One $1,000 non-renewable award for tuition expenses.
Selection:
Recipients will be recommended each spring by the New Holstein High School Scholarship Selection Committee.
Collecting the Award & Payment Procedure:
Recipients must fill out and submit Scholarship Acceptance Form and Scholarship Verification Form through the Scholarship Portal (https://www.grantinterface.com/Home/Logon?urlkey=cffvrscholar). Recipients are required to provide supporting documents as instructed in the Scholarship Verification Form, such as class registration/list with credits listed, proof of major, grade transcript, etc. After approval of online Scholarship Verification Form, the scholarship check will be paid directly to the school the recipient will be attending. The Community Foundation communicates with students via email; it is the student’s responsibility to keep their Scholarship Portal account updated with their current email address.
Loss of Eligibility:
Failure to enroll as a full-time student at an accredited college, university, or technical college for the first semester of college. Any request for deferral must be submitted to the Foundation in writing and may be granted for up to one year at the discretion of the Foundation, in consultation with New Holstein High School.
