Overview

Background:

Prior to Nell Milburn Menn’s death in November 2005, at the age of 89, she established the Nell M. Menn Scholarship Fund to enable others to experience the joy of music. At the age of eight, Nell learned to play the piano and it became one of her life-long loves. She gave piano lessons to other students while in high school and graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree, with a double major in Piano and Public School Music, from Baylor University in 1937. Nell served as head of the music deparment at the Public School in Hillsboro, TX, for two years where her high school choral club took first place in the state. She continued playing the piano, to the delight of all who heard her, until shortly before her death.
