Nasreen Majid Scholarship

Background:

Nasreen Majid was an extremely gracious, kind and generous person to everyone she met. She was tremendously devoted to her family. Education was one of her top priorities, one that she emphasized when raising her two daughters. The Nasreen Majid Scholarship Fund was established by Nasreen and her husband just prior to her death in 2006 after a long battle with cancer. A scholarship will forever be given in her name to benefit minority graduates of Menasha High School attend college.

Eligibility: (taken into consideration to determine recipients)

• Minority seniors from Menasha High School • Minimum cumulative 3.5 GPA • Planning to attend an accredited college or university as a full-time student • Demonstrated commitment to community service and school activities • Financial need will be considered

Award Amount:

One $750 non-renewable scholarship award for tuition expenses.

Selection:

Recipients are recommended each spring by the Menasha High School Scholarship Selection Committee.

Collecting the Award & Payment Procedure:

Recipients must fill out and submit Scholarship Acceptance Form and Scholarship Verification Form through the Scholarship Portal (https://www.grantinterface.com/Home/Logon?urlkey=cffvrscholar). Recipients are required to provide supporting documents as instructed in the Scholarship Verification Form, such as class registration/list with credits listed, proof of major, grade transcript, etc. After approval of online Scholarship Verification Form, the scholarship check will be paid directly to the school the recipient will be attending. The Community Foundation communicates with students via email; it is the student’s responsibility to keep their Scholarship Portal account updated with their current email address.

Loss of Eligibility:

Failure to register as a full-time student for the first semester of freshman year at an accredited college or university.
