Overview

“With this scholarship fund, we hope her memory will live on with others as it will with her family. We hope this fund will help others achieve their field of dreams, as Nadine was achieving hers,” - Nadine’s husband

Background:

Nadine was born in the town of Pine River, Wisconsin on October 6. She was educated in a one-room schoolhouse until moving to Berlin, Wisconsin, where she graduated from high school in 1971. She attended UW-Madison and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture. Upon graduation, she worked for the Green Giant Company and became the first woman supervisor in the company’s history. After marriage and two children, Nadine studied insurance and became an independent State Farm agent. While running her insurance business, she attended Concordia University, earning a Master of Science degree in Education. Combining her experience and education, Nadine began work at American Medical Securities as a Sales Trainer. She accepted a position at Aid Association for Lutherans as a Field Development Consultant and was later promoted to Director of Education-Sales for the Southeastern Wisconsin Firm of Thrivent Financial. Along with the transfer came the designations of Life Underwriters Training Counselor Fellow, Fraternal Insurance Counselor, ChFC, Licenses in Health and Life Insurance, General Securities representative and Series 63 Uniform Securities Agent-State Law. Nadine was not only an achiever in her business life, but she was very active in the community. She was involved in the development planning of the Kewaunee Winter Park Recreational Area, Kewaunee County Development Center, Community Kitchen and Tourism, Violence Intervention Project in Algoma, Kewaunee County Homemakers, and the building committee for Immanuel Lutheran School. Family was very important to Nadine, and she always made an effort to support her children in all their activities. Nadine’s life was tragically cut short in October 2002 due to an automobile accident.
