Overview

Background:

The Donald T. Straus Scholarship was established by August W. and Adeline B. Straus, and is an award given in honor of their son, Donald T. Straus, who was a long-time volunteer Physical Therapist and friend of the Kaukauna High School Wrestling Program. The recipient of this award must be of good moral character and show true love for the sport, respect for their coaches, their school, and the people around them. Their successes might not have been seen in the number of individual awards they garnered, but rather in the things they truly felt and learned through the sport. This is a coaches’ award in the truest sense that every coach would wish for individuals like the recipients of this award, not because of their natural athleticism but because of their sense of enjoying, appreciating and working hard with those around them. They were a positive influence on everyone and were very capable of competing on the high school level, but not necessarily beyond. It is the hope of Donald T. Straus and his family that this award will help the recipients achieve their educational goals
