Overview

Background:

Janice (Bombinski) Zuege was born in Antigo, Wisconsin and early on her parents emphasized the importance of school and becoming involved in school activities. Other life lessons included be respectful, responsible, honest, and compassionate. Pursuing post-secondary education was encouraged and supported. As an elementary student, Janice knew that she wanted to become a teacher. In High School she became involved in leadership co-curricular activities. She attended UW-Oshkosh and received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Later, she returned to school at UWMadison and received a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration. Janice began her teaching career at a middle school in southeast Wisconsin for four years. Then she moved to Appleton where she continued teaching 7th and 8th grade students at Hortonville Area School District for 10 years. She served as Associate Principal of Hortonville Middle and Elementary Schools and 4K Coordinator for 22 years. In 2009 she received the Association of Wisconsin School Administrators (AWSA) Associate Principal of the Year Award. After serving in public education as a teacher and administrator for 36 years she retired in 2017. Janice was blessed with a very successful and rewarding career at Hortonville Area School District and wants to support students planning to pursue a career in an educational related field. She feels if it wasn’t for teachers, we wouldn’t have doctors, nurses, business owners, and so many other educated individuals. There is no greater satisfaction than making a difference in the life of a child.
