Huston Family Scholarship

Background:

Education is very important to the Huston Family. They wanted to give students, that may not have otherwise had the opportunity, to further their educational dreams and goals.

Eligibility: (taken into consideration to determine recipients)

• Graduating seniors of the following public high schools: o Appleton East High School o Appleton North High School o Appleton West High School o Neenah High School o Menasha High School • Planning to attend a school within the University of Wisconsin System or a Technical College within Wisconsin as a full-time student • Cumulative GPA between 2.5 and 3.25 • Demonstrated motivation and focus on career path and goals • Financial need will be considered

Award Amount:

Three awards at $4,000 for tuition expenses, payable at $2,000 for the first and second semesters of the first year of post-secondary education.

Selection:

Recipients are recommended each spring by the Community Foundation Scholarship Selection Committee. Collecting the Award & Payment Procedure:

Recipients must fill out and submit Scholarship Acceptance Form and Scholarship Verification Form through the Scholarship Portal (https://www.grantinterface.com/Home/Logon?urlkey=cffvrscholar). Recipients are required to provide supporting documents as instructed in the Scholarship Verification Form, such as class registration/list with credits listed, proof of major, grade transcript, etc. After approval of online Scholarship Verification Form, the scholarship check will be paid directly to the school the recipient will be attending. The Community Foundation communicates with students via email; it is the student’s responsibility to keep their Scholarship Portal account updated with their current email address.

Loss of Eligibility:

Failure to maintain full-time student status with a minimum 2.5 GPA at a school within the University of Wisconsin System or a Technical School within Wisconsin.
