Ephesians 4:11-13:

11 It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, 12 to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Background:

This scholarship was established by an anonymous donor who recognized the financial challenges of pursuing an education in the studies of Pastoral Ministry. It is the donor’s hope to benefit Christian students that will meet the ministerial needs of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod.

Eligibility:

• Graduating seniors from Fox Valley Lutheran High School • Planning to enroll in the Pre-Seminary Program at Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota as a full-time student • ACT score of 20 or higher • Minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA

Award Amount:

One non-renewable $1,500 scholarship payable in the first semester at Martin Luther College.

Selection:

Recipient is recommended each spring by a scholarship selection committee consisting of the donor, Fox Valley Lutheran High School Guidance Counselor and the Fox Valley Lutheran High School Principal, or their designees.

Collecting the Award & Payment Procedure:

Recipients must fill out and submit Scholarship Acceptance Form and Scholarship Verification Form through the Scholarship Portal (https://www.grantinterface.com/Home/Logon?urlkey=cffvrscholar). Recipients are required to provide supporting documents as instructed in the Scholarship Verification Form, such as class registration/list with credits listed, proof of major, grade transcript, etc. After approval of online Scholarship Verification Form, the scholarship check will be paid directly to the school the recipient will be attending. The Community Foundation communicates with students via email; it is the student’s responsibility to keep their Scholarship Online Portal account updated with their current email address.

Loss of Eligibility:

Failure to register as a full-time student at Martin Luther College in the Pre-Seminary Program.
