Adolph Stoelting Scholarship
Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region
Background:
Born in 1882, Adolph Stoelting was one of Kiel’s pioneer manufacturers. He and his brothers started the Stoelting Brothers Company in Kiel in 1906. Until his death in 1961, at the age of 75, Adolph maintained an interest in the affairs of the company. Today, Stoelting, a Vollrath Company, is a diversified manufacturer of frozen treat equipment, with a reputation for state-of-the-art engineering and uncompromising quality. Adolph served in several civic jobs, including alderman in 1920 when Kiel was first organized as a city. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Chamber of Commerce and a director of the Citizens State Bank. Adolph advocated for higher education even though he did not attend college himself. Family members who established this scholarship fund said Adolph was jovial, loving, and warm. This scholarship serves as Adolph’s way of giving back to the Kiel community.
