CITIZENS BANK SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

The Warren E. Hansen, Sr. Memorial Scholarship Award presented by Citizens Bank provides six (6) annual awards of $1,000 to eligible high school seniors attending school within the area Citizens Bank serves. See page 2 for a complete list of schools. To qualify for consideration of a scholarship award, students must demonstrate academic excellence, perform community service, and intend to pursue a career in business and/or finance. Students must submit a completed application, essay, and two (2) recommendations. See page 2 for essay guidelines. Application, essay, other attachments, and recommendations must be submitted by the deadline of April 7, 2024.
In a separate document, prepare a typed (computer or typewriter) standard 5-paragraph essay of no more than 2 pages, double-spaced, discussing the following:
- why you would like to pursue a career in business or finance
- where you see yourself five to eight years from now
- how you will include community service in your future endeavors. Essays will be judged for focus on topic, organization, voice, word choice, and writing conventions (sentence structure, grammar, mechanics, and spelling) using a standardized essay rubric as shown below.
