Cambridge Australia Scholarships

Cambridge Australia Scholarships is a not-for-profit organization that provides scholarships for outstanding Australian graduates to undertake Masters and PhD degrees at the University of Cambridge.

Since its establishment in the 1980s (as the Cambridge Australia Trust), over 350 scholarships have been awarded, under a variety of schemes, many of them named after donors or eminent Australian alumni. CAS relies on the generosity of its donors, and all its scholarships are funded by private philanthropic gifts. Further information about its donors can be found here.

In recognition of its generosity in funding Australian students at Cambridge, in 2011 CAS was inducted into the University's Guild of Benefactors.

CAS is keen to keep in contact with its alumni, to find out about their work and lives after leaving Cambridge, and to maintain an active community of Cambridge alumni in Australia. If you are a former CAS scholar, and have not yet joined their online database, please visit the relevant CAS web page to register.

The Cambridge Australia Scholarships are funded jointly by CAS and the Cambridge Trust, and are available to Australian applicants at Masters and PhD level.

These scholarships are available to Masters and PhD applicants from Australia, in all subjects. They are tenable at any College.

• Masters: part-cost scholarship
• PhD: full-cost scholarship, covering:
• University tuition fee
• annual stipend (sufficient for a single person)
• a contribution towards travel

Conditions

Applicants should have gained, or be about to gain, a degree from a recognised Australian university

How to apply

No separate application is required for this scholarship, only the application for admission to the University of Cambridge, which must be submitted by the funding deadline specific to your course (please refer to the Postgraduate Course Directory)
