Nancy R. Smith Environmental Studies ​ ​Scholarship Fund

Established by former BAF Board member Nancy Smith, this fund will generate income to provide scholarships to students attending a West Virginia higher education institution and pursing a curriculum that includes environmental preservation and protection. Recipients of the scholarship shall be from southern WV with preference given to residents of Raleigh County. This permanent endowment reflects Mrs. Smith’s concern that future generations will always have the opportunity to enjoy a “wild, wonderful West Virginia.”

• Need and merit based
• Student must have graduated from high school in southern WV with preference given to students from Raleigh County
• Recipient must be pursuing post-high school education, undergraduate or graduate level, in environmental studies.

Renewable: Yes, if the recipient maintains a B or better GPA, is a full time student and continues to major is an aspect of environmental studies.
