​N. Joe and Alice Rahall Family Scholarship

Congressman Nick Joe Rahall II started this endowment to honor his parents. Selection of the recipient of this scholarship will be based upon both need and merit. The scholarship is to rotate among students attending Bluefield State College, Concord University, Marshall University, Nick J. Rahall Appalachian Transportation Institute, NRCTC, SWVCTC, and University of Charleston.

• Scholarship rotates between eight designated schools Bluefield State College, Concord University, Marshall

University, New River Community and Technical College, Nick J. Rahall Appalachia Transportation Institute, Mountain State University, Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College, West Virginia Institute of Technology.

• Need and merit based for graduating senior as well as qualifying college upper classmen
• Must have graduated from a high school in the 3rd Congressional District,
• Commit to take at least one communication class, and
• Pursue a major related to technology and economic development.
• Preference will be given to those who are first generation college students and participate in some community service activity.

Renewable: Yes, if maintain full-time status and complete renewal application while maintaining an acceptable academic standing.
