Louis Conte, Joe Mazzella and Josephine Mazzella Memorial Scholarship Fund

Lena Conte established this fund in memory of her husband and her parents. The Mazzellas were born in Italy but immigrated to the United States, eventually purchasing Jimmie’s Place on South Kanawha St. They always valued education and supported their three daughters in completing college degrees. This fund will generate income for a need-based scholarship for a WWHS graduate who is attending the WVU School of Medicine.

Eligibility:

• Need-based for a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, attending West Virginia University School of Medicine.
• Renewable: Yes; until recipient graduates but, they must maintain at least a “C” average.
• Apply: Contact WVU School of Health Sciences Financial Aid Office.
