Overview

Ruth Eye Webb started this fund in memory of her father and in honor of the many family members who contributed to the business. John W. Eye established a radio repair business in Beckley in 1938; it expanded into sales of appliances, televisions and furniture. Members of his family, including daughters Gladys Lafferty, Ina Maples, Hallie McGinnis and Ruth Webb, worked for their father and helped start the business. Ruth married and moved west, returning to West Virginia in 1989. John Lee Eye became president of the business after his dad’s death in 1981.
