Overview

Gloria Diane Hopkins loved her community and realized the value of formal education. She died in 2011 at the age of 64. BAF was named as a beneficiary in her will and directed the assets be used to fulfill her interest in assisting Woodrow Wilson High School graduates continue their education at either West Virginia University or Marshall University.

Diane was the daughter of the late Sterling "Hoppie" and Reva Lucas Hopkins. She had on sibling, Gary. Diane graduated from WWHS in 1965, and later graduated from WVU with a degree in journalism. Her brother Gary attended Marshall University; he tragically died of cancer as a young man. Diane worked as an advertising representative at The Register Herald before she became a licensed agent with Allstate Insurance Company.
