​Albert Pennington Memorial ​Scholarship

This fund was established through the efforts of Albert’s daughter, Becky Absher, their extended family, friends, students, and teachers. Mr. Albert Pennington was a Fayette County educator. He taught and served as principal at Glendale, Layland, Danese, and Divide Elementary Schools. He also taught Adult Basic Education classes. The recipient of this scholarship must be a graduate of a Fayette County HS, attend Concord University, and major in education.

• Fayette County high school graduate.
• Attending Concord University and majoring in education.
• College upperclassmen meeting other selection criteria may also apply.

Renewable: Yes; for an additional 3 years if the recipient maintains at least a B average.
