How to apply You will need to submit an application for an advertised bursary by the due date.
You can only submit one application, and can apply for more than one bursary on your application.
You can’t update your application once you have submitted it, so make sure you have included everything required as listed in supporting documents above and any additional documents needed for specific busaries.
Complete the online application and upload your supporting documents in Sydney Student. Go to ‘My finance’, ‘Scholarships, prizes, bursaries and loans’, ‘Applications’, then ‘Advertised bursary application’.
If you are currently enrolled in two faculties, only bursaries for one of your faculties will display on your application. If you would like to apply for a bursary from the other faculty, use the ‘Personal statement’ area to list the bursary and provide a statement outlining your eligibility. Supporting documents To be considered for an advertised bursary, you need to provide the following supporting documents when you apply through Sydney Student:
- bank account statement with transaction history of your everyday account, for the past 30 days
- bank account statements for all savings accounts proof of Centrelink (if relevant)
- any additional supporting documents required by a specific bursary.
Additionally, bank account statements need to contain:
- the official header of your financial institution (e.g. bank name, logo)
- your full name
- the account number.
You are eligible to apply if you are:
- Studying full time;
- An Australian citizen or permanent resident;
- Currently residing in Australia;
- Making satisfactory academic progress;
- Experiencing financial difficulty.
- Able to provide documents as outlined in the Confirmation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Identity Policy 2015.
