Overview

The ANU College of Asia and the Pacific is delighted to invite Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders to apply for the Garrurru Indigenous Undergraduate Scholarship. The objective of the Award is to address the underrepresentation of Indigenous Australians enrolled in undergraduate degree programs offered by the ANU College of Asia and the Pacific.

The funds can be used for any number of study support purposes – i.e. accommodation, textbooks, transport, childcare, course feeds and other fees associated with undertaking their course

How to Apply All students applying directly to ANU for admission and who elect to be considered for scholarships will be assessed for this Award if they meet the eligibility criteria.

Where there are no eligible direct applicants or where the pool of eligible direct applicants has been exhausted, the Award may be offered to an eligible student applying for admission via the University Admissions Centre (UAC).

When you apply directly to ANU for admission as a domestic undergraduate student, you will have the opportunity to be considered for this opportunity within the same application. Other such support options are enlisted on the Direct application scholarships page.

Eligibility

The Award is available each year to a prospective ANU student who:

  • is of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent; and

  • identifies as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person;

  • is recognised as such by their community; and

  • receives an offer of admission to an undergraduate degree program offered by the ANU College of Asia and the Pacific.
