The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scholarship is worth $1,500 per year for residential students and $1,000 for non-residential students for each year of study in an Outdoor Leadership Vocational Education and Training (VET) course and up to four years in an undergraduate course.

Eligibility

The Scholarship is available to new Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students enrolling in an undergraduate or Outdoor Leadership VET course;

  • Applicants are asked to provide contact details of two referees;
  • The recipient must undertake a study load of at least 24 credit points (4 units) or equivalent in an undergraduate or Outdoor Leadership VET course, per semester. Any approved cross-institutional study will be included when determining a student’s study load for each semester;
  • Continuance of the scholarship is contingent upon the recipient maintaining an academic status of ‘Good Standing’;
  • Applicants must provide a signed affirmation declaring that they identify as an Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander;
  • Applicants must provide confirmation in writing with the corporate seal from the chairperson of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander incorporated organisation in a community in which the applicant lives or has previously lived
