Ken and Janny Hutchinson Scholarship in Architecture

Description of the Award

This award is meant to recognize the professional and academic achievements of incoming Architecture Program students at Athabasca University. This award will assist with the tuition and fees associated with these courses of study.

An applicant must meet the following criteria to be eligible to apply for this award:

• Current RAIC Syllabus student or current AU student in either the Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Architecture or the B.Sc. in Architecture.
• Demonstrated academic record of student success in previous academic program (for graduate students).

The overall strengths of the following criteria will be considered when the committee reviews applications:

• Academic achievement
• Outstanding commitment to excellence in design
• History of managing and leading architectural projects
• Demonstration of community and/or professional leadership
• Impact of the scholarship
• Special consideration will be given to students who have an architectural diploma from a recognized technical college or university who are upgrading their credentials
• Consideration towards gender equity will be given in the selection process for these awards
