Overview

The AU Natural Disaster Emergency Bursaries are intended to assist AU students with continuing with their education without interruption due to being affected by a natural disaster. Current AU students experiencing this sort of unfortunate circumstances are invited to apply. Applicants must have completed a minimum of 3 AU credits at any level of study. Additional circumstances may be taken into consideration. Recipients are eligible to apply for a second bursary upon successful completion of initial bursary funded course.

Eligibility

An applicant must meet the following criteria to be eligible to apply for this award:

  • Be a current AU student (program or unclassified).
  • Have completed a minimum of 3 AU credits, or was active in their first AU course at the time of the disaster incident.
  • Experienced a verifiable natural disaster (e.g. fire, flood, ice storm, tornado, evacuation of residence). Applicants may be asked to provide proof of loss.
  • Apply for the Bursary within one year of experiencing loss due to a natural disaster.
  • Submit the completed application, and any supporting documents (if applicable), to the AU Student Awards Unit. Application Submission Deadlines •- Ongoing – Bursary applications will be evaluated monthly
