AU Community Leadership Award

Description of the Award

Awarded to current Athabasca University (AU) program students enrolled in any undergraduate program who have achieved a cumulative AU grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 or higher and have completed at least 15 AU credits. Preference will be given to applicants who have proven leadership skills, exhibited a genuine concern for the wellbeing and betterment of fellow citizens, or have contributed to their local community via volunteerism and active participation in extracurricular cultural and/or recreational activities. Students are eligible to receive this award once.

Conditions of Eligibility

An applicant must meet the following criteria to be eligible to apply for this award:

• Active AU undergraduate program student • Has not previously received this award • Cumulative AU GPA of 3.00 or higher • Completion of at least 15 AU credits

Selection Criteria

The emphasis for award selection includes: • active participation and significant service towards the betterment of community, • demonstrated leadership skills, • a solid reference.
