AU Career Advancement Award - Graduate

Description of the Award
Awarded to eight students (either graduate or undergraduate) who are currently enrolled in an Athabasca University certificate or diploma program. AU degree program students (UG or GR) are not eligible.
Undergraduate certificate or diploma program students must have a cumulative AU grade point average (GPA) of 2.00 or higher and must have completed at least 9 AU credits by the application deadline.
Graduate level certificate or diploma program students must have a cumulative AU GPA of 3.00 or higher and must have completed at least 6 AU credits by the application deadline.
Recipients will be selected based on proven leadership skills and dedicated pursuit of career advancement or professional development in their area of specialization
Conditions of Eligibility
An applicant must meet the following criteria to be eligible for this award: • Enrolled in an AU undergraduate or graduate certificate or diploma (as opposed to degree) program • Has an AU cumulative GPA of 2.00 or higher at an undergraduate level or an AU program GPA of 3.00 or higher at a graduate level • Has completed 9 AU credits for Undergraduate programs or 6 AU credits for Graduate programs • Students are eligible to receive this award only once.
Selection Criteria
The AU Career Advancement Awards will be given to students who demonstrate merit without regard to financial need. The emphasis for award selection includes: • proven leadership skills in chosen area of career, • dedicated pursuit of career advancement, • evidence of professional development in area of specialization, • a solid reference
