Alberta Innovates Graduate Student Scholarship
Alberta Student Aid
One award is provided per year to support academically superior students undertaking full-time research education. Applicants must be pursuing full-time studies at either:
- University of Alberta
- University of Calgary
- University of Lethbridge
The program is designed to enable students to succeed in Platform Areas of scientific research in the areas of:
- Information and Communications Technology (ICT)
- Nanotechnology
Value:
Master’s full value: $26,000 per year
Doctoral full value: $31,000 per year
Applicants not holding a major National Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) award are eligible to receive the full value of the award.
Applicants who receive a NSERC award are eligible to receive the full value of the award as follows:
Major Award (e.g. NSERC) Top-up: $12,000 per year
Open to Canadian citizens, or Permanent Residents/international students living in Alberta.
Applicants must be pursuing full-time studies at either:
- University of Alberta
- University of Calgary
- University of Lethbridge
Application Process:
Applicants apply through the Faculty of Graduate studies at their university.
Total number of awards vary at each university. Application deadline may vary at each university. Applicants must contact their university for further information. Selection Process:
Applicants are selected through a competitive process whereby each application is adjudicated by a review committee. The university receives strategic direction from Alberta Innovates each year to ensure that research projects are aligned with Alberta Innovates' Platform areas.
