Overview

Aids & Adaptations:

The Scheme of Assistance Regulations 2008 introduced a minimum 80% grant funding for mandatory adaptations. The aim is to assist home owners or private tenants to stay in their homes.

A discretionary grant may be available for the following adaptations:

  • Installation of a fixed ceiling track hoist.
  • Other facilities recommended by the Health & Social Care Partnership Occupational Therapy Staff. Stairlifts are now assessed through the Health & Social Care Partnership Occupational Therapy Staff. Contact details below.

A Minimum grant of 50% or up to 100% assistance by way of income related means testing or on production of prescribed benefits.

Extensions to homes to provide additional living/sleeping accommodation or work to create accommodation in a separate building from the current living accommodation ARE NOT included within the scope of a discretionary grant.
