Business Start Up Grant
West Dunbartonshire Council
A grant of £500 is available to assist individuals over 18 years of age with business start-up costs.
- A business plan is required (business planning advice can be provided).
- Applicants must provide proof of trading e.g. evidence of a business bank account and identification (passport or birth certificate).
- The applicant will be expected to show evidence of their personal contribution to the business e.g. cash at bank or evidence of start up expenditure, which should be demonstrated in the funding section of the Business Plan.
- The applicant will be expected to be working full-time for the business within 12 months from receipt of the grant
The Start Up Grant can be used to buy capital equipment, towards marketing costs or as a contribution towards the running costs of the business.
The start up grant will be made “to the business” not an individual. Therefore, where there is more than one owner of the business, for example in a partnership or limited company, only one can apply. You will need to provide details of other individuals involved in the business. Only one application for the Business Start-Up Grant will be considered in any 12 month period.
Individuals over 18 years of age.
UK residents and those ‘granted leave to stay’ in the UK are eligible to apply for the Start-Up Grant. Evidence will be required, for example a passport or letter from the Home Office granting leave to stay.
